The MELAN MIND program is an six-week course for Black women designed to provide a safe and welcoming space for participants to connect with themselves and each other through mindfulness practices. Our holistic program offers an inside-out systemic approach to awareness where Black women learn to see themselves through an internal gaze. Mindfulness integrates the mind and body, creating a more intentional way to live and witness life experiences. Mindfulness practices can help reduce stress and improve well-being by increasing self-awareness, self-compassion, self-value, and present-moment focus.

Each session will begin with a guided meditation or mindfulness exercise, followed by group discussion and reflection on the week's theme. Participants can share their experiences and support one another as they learn and grow together.
​
In addition to weekly group sessions, participants will have access to resources and tools for continuing their mindfulness practice outside the program; this may include guided meditations, journal prompts, and other self-care practices.
​
Whether you are new to mindfulness or have some experience, this program is open to all Black women interested in exploring mindfulness to cultivate inner peace and well-being. We hope this program will provide a supportive and nourishing community for Black women to connect with and support one another in their mindfulness journey.
